Twitter’s Reach in Brazil Drops

New numbers may suggest a market shift

According to comScore, in Brazil, visits to Twitter dropped by 24% between July 2011 and July 2012, from 12.9 million hits to 9.7 million.

Among the possible reasons for the drop is that Twitter doesn’t allow Brazilians to share as many forms of media as other types of social media. There also seems to be low interaction: a social media specialist from Enken indicates that 40% of Brazilian Twitter users have between one and five followers.
