More Mobile Calls Than Landline Calls Are Made in Argentina

Recent data for Argentina demonstrates the impressive growth of its mobile market

According to Indec (Instituto Nacional de Estadisticas y Censos), Argentines made 7.1 billion calls using mobile phones in March 2012—but they only made 1.1 billion calls using landlines in the same month. Indec also reported that there are 57.9 million mobile lines in service in Argentina, while the total population is reported to be 42.1 million. These statistics further underscore the growth of Argentina's mobile market, as well as that of Latin America.
